Caladh Nua: Gothic Nights & Happy Days
I met up with three lads from a very new band, so new that their debut album hadn’t come out and they were still to do their first official overseas concert. They are mad for traditional music, are delighted to have such a distinctive singer as Lisa Butler in their line-up and are ready to play anywhere they can.
Ireland

Cambridge Folk Festival: Great Music, Good Weather, Cheap Cider
A four-day festival in the heart of Cambridge, definitely one of the UK's premier festivals with a 45-year pedigree, in one of the greenest parts of England. And it's big. Surprisingly, and uniquely in the UK, this major festival is run by the local council.

Fin Alfred: Singing the Right Song at the Right Time
After the many hundreds of private parties, school concerts, dances, folk song evenings, union meetings and festivals we have played, I realise that a very large part of the musical baggage and inheritance that has taken me round the world in my music career, I have my father to thank for: Fin Alfred Larsen.

Folkwoods Festival: Songs from the Woods
What do you get if you put some veteran pop and festival experts together to organise a completely new festival? A good festival, just like the old days. The Folkwoods Festival takes place in a wonderful setting in the middle of the woods near the Dutch town of Eindhoven for almost a decade.

Paul Kelly: Keep Doing What We Do
The new values of commercialism, prosperity and unlimited growth which were driving the Irish society during the times of the Celtic Tiger don’t seem to have last. Does Paul Kelly see this is a chance for the Irish traditional music to step in and fill this vacuum with values which are less commercial but more timeless?

Klezmofobia: The Story of a Unique Big City Band from Denmark
In the last ten years, Copenhagen has become the northern hub for klezmer music. A case in point is the band Klezmofobia, who call their brand of music New York Klezmer, in other words, Jewish music that has rubbed shoulders with all sorts of other music styles in the big city.

Rudolstadt: Germany's Folk & World Music Mecca
To be honest, most time of the year Rudolstadt is rather quiet and deserted. There seems to be no artist or music group really worth mentioning. Yet, this small town in Thuringia did become Germany's folk and world music mecca - if only for the first weekend each July.

Folk for Children: A Journey Through Europe's Children's Music
Having recently started my journey through folk music for children, I remain impressed by the top quality some children's music has - not only cheering the kids up but also keeping the parents happy when listening to it again and again on car journeys and at home.

T:-)M's Nightshift: Book Reviews
Musical Traditions of Northern Ireland: Despite the extraordinary success of the peace process, Northern Ireland still remains a divided country in which traditional culture in all its manifestations is widely used as a marker of religious affiliation and ethnic identity. Is it really so? Was it always so?

Austro-Folk: Molden, Theessink, Tschuschenkapelle ...

Cara: America... Here We Come

Dun Aengus: From Clare to Here

Hannes Wader: Schon so lang?
