FolkWorld presents: Danny story

A little Danny Kyle story by Colum Sands

I just got back from ten gigs in ten days Scotland and England. Many people in Scotland spoke of Danny very fondly.

Danny at the Bute beach party 95; photo by The MollisOne couple in Irvine, who he used to stay with each summer during Marymass Festival for many years, used to write little notes to him and he left messages for them as well, they probably moved around at different times of day, Danny coming in very late when they were in bed and they'd be out the next morning by the time Danny got up etc. He had a great running battle of slagging going on with both of them, especially the man of the house (Jimmy) who Danny accused (tongue in cheek probably) of being rather sour.

One of Danny's little notes read:

RECIPE FOR YOGHURT.
TAKE ONE PINT OF MILK AND LET JIMMY STARE AT IT.
