Elephant Sessions’ music combines the very best of trad, funk and electronica and over the last decade has earned them a swathe of fans across the world. Their latest album, entitled For The Night, contains a progressive blend of intricate tunes and engulfing guitars, with a bass and drum heavy backline.

The album, written during lockdown, is indicative of the band’s desire for summer days and long nights, something very evident in the music. With sweeping synths, funk riffs and tracks reminiscent of sweaty late-night festival dance tents, this album is a true blend of genres all fused together by the band’s Scottish folk roots.

Alasdair Taylor of Elephant Sessions said: “It feels so good to be getting new music out there once again. With an epic summer of festival appearances in full swing, it feels like the perfect time to release something new and celebrate the magic that comes from making and playing new tracks. We’ve had a fantastic reaction from people who have jumped around to some of these tunes so far, from Tiree to Sydney and we can’t wait to share the full lot with our fans from near and far. We want our music to make people move, to get lost underneath the lights - that’s what For The Night is all about.”

Celebrating their tenth year as a band in 2022, Elephant Sessions have gone from humble beginnings in the Highlands of Scotland, to playing on stages around the world. Since exploding onto the scene, the band have made live appearances at some of the most notable venues and festivals across the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia, including Glastonbury, Byron Bay Bluesfest, New York Tartan Week, Colours of Ostrava, and multiple sell-out headline performances at Celtic Connections.

Elephant Sessions is composed of Euan Smillie (fiddle), Alasdair Taylor (mandolin), Seth Tinsley (bass, synth) and Greg Barry (drums, samples).

The record is brimming with standout tunes including the title track and lead single For The Night - an intense and crescendoing introduction to the new album, while Is This A Vibe is more chilled out and melodic and After Hours boasts a contagious disco-inspired sound.

For The Night will be available to buy on CD and vinyl, and to stream and download on Friday 9th September 2022. Elephant Sessions can be found on stages across Europe and UK throughout the year.
