Fira Mediterrània Manresa is a performing arts fair rooted in the Mediterranean tradition. It has been held every year since 1998 and has become a setting for exchange professionals that sell and buy productions.

Fira is an interdisciplinary event and the programme covers all artistic languages – visual arts, circus, dance, exhibitions, music, storytelling and theatre. The programmed shows are in different formats - small, medium or large-scale - in venues or in the street, aimed both at adult and at family audiences.

Alongside this, the Business Area is an outstanding point of contact and sale both in the performing arts sector (circus, family shows, street performance, etc.) and in that of world music.

Fira Mediterrània Manresa aims to:

Amparanoia

It has been twenty years since Amparo Sánchez released El poder de Machín, the first album of her acclaimed musical career as Amparanoia. Accompanied by a powerful band, the Granada-born singer brings a revival of her album to the stage, which consists of ranchera, traditional music of Mexico, and bolero, slow-tempo Latin music. The album was heralded by critics as a precursor of musica mestiza (a musical style which may incorporate elements of rap, flamenco, Afro-Cuban music, samba and cumbia).

More than fifty years ago, Bella Ciao marked a turning point for the Italian folk scene by introducing a range of libertarian, pacifist and civic values. Ricardo Tesi, Lucilla Galeazzi and Ellena Ledda are just some of the great names of Italian folk music that revive this spirit, with featured Catalan artists, Jaume Arnella and Carles Belda.

Mísia

The Portuguese singer Mísia comes to Manresa for the first time ever with a live version of her unique tribute to Amália Rodrigues. This work is the result of more than twenty years spent building up her own repertoire and sound. During this time, Mísia has played her individual interpretation of traditional Portuguese folk music, fado, on the most renowned stages worldwide.

Os d'Abaixo

The folk band Os d'Abaixo is composed of various musicians, who include two gold standard artists of the Galicia music scene, Berrogüetto and Fía na Roca. The band was born out of a simple desire to perform music to get people dancing in Santiago de Compostela, but the huge acclaim of its live act has seen the group perform in festivals in Galicia, the Basque Country, France and Wales, among other places.

Temenik Electric

This Arab rock band has a talent for transforming culture shock into 'great rock' of civilisations. Enjoying international acclaim, their live act is an explosion of rock rifts, electronic trance and traditional Moroccan music in a dramatic and multicultural project that is sure to inspire audiences to dance non-stop.
